This page is for my Christian woodworking buddies. I know lots of Christian woodies....many I won't meet until Heaven but, that's okay. Telling others about Jesus is our job while we're still here. The Gospel Fly is a sure fire conversation starter for you and/or for the people who display the Fly somehow.
Pics above are a few of the thing's I've made. The post-it note holder is easy to make and who doesn't have one on their desk. Take one of the GFly pins, cut off the "pointy" thing on the back, take your Forstner bit, make a hole, glue it in. Easy.
The spinner blade...same size as one of the most popular spinners ever...starts with an M....ends with "epps" #3. I like to glue 'em on the clip of a pen...shows up really good when on a pocket. Business card holder...another "one on every desk" thing is easy to make too. I make them to suit the hobby or interest of the owner. Golf tees, empty cartridge cases, horseshoe nails....no limit to possibilities. The Icthus fish with the "stick" coming out of it is how I make my firesteels...very popular with outdoors guys. I drill a hole in the block first, glue the firesteel in, put the firesteel in the Jacobs chuck on my Shopsmith, turn the fish shape..of course it's round, take it out of the chuck and freehand/grind a flat on both sides. Glue the spinner blade on, drill a hole through the eye, put a keychain in it....there ya go.
I can sell the pins or spinner blades chain for $3.00 each. (That's right at what I paid for 'em) For those of you who are gonna put 'em on a pen, I'll include a free black walnut pen blank. They look good together.
BTW, the spinner blade and the pin are 22 caret gold plated around a cloisonne baked enamel setting. These could be considered jewelry grade.....blades look good as earrings or pendants for ladies.
That's it for now guys. If ya want to get in touch, use the Contact Form at the bottom of this page.
